Enterprise-Wide GIS System in Urban Local Bodies & Town Planning Department


Project Description

Government of India has launched Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in 2015. One purpose of the Mission is to improve governance through a set of reforms. Preparation of Master Plan using GIS is one of the most important reform. In line with AMRUT mission, DLB has taken initiatives to provide statewide Geodatabase for complete Urban Infrastructure for enhanced Decision Support Systems for Urban Local Bodies, Directorate of Local Bodies.

Approach and Objective

---To provide statewide Geodatabase for complete Urban Infrastructure for enhanced Decision Support Systems for Urban Local Bodies
---In alignment with AMRUT programmes of GOI, DLB intends to utilize GeoSpatial technology for updating and creating GIS based master Plans for managing better IT enabled Urban Plans, Land Bank Projects, Engineering & Development Plans, City Sanitation Plans, Slum Rehabilitation, Property Tax Calculation, Building Plan Approval conforming to by-laws, Infrastructure Projects, Integrated Solid Waste Management, and Monitoring of Unauthorized Construction


Outcome

• All 193 Existing Landuse of Master Plan are updated
• Various Landuses like Builtup, Forest, Agricultural, Scrub, Recreational ,Waste Land, Water Bodies, Transportation data pertains to Road Network, Bridges, Flyover, Railways (with Road Types and RoW) & Geometric correction of all ULB boundaries are an ongoing process (provided by DLB/TPD )
• Publication of ULB GIS data under RajDharaa

• Correction/ Updation of ULB Boundaries-Municipal Boundary, Notified Urban Area Limit, Planning Zone Boundary, Tax Zone Boundary, Urbanized Area, Ward Boundary & Peripheral Control Belt based on inputs provided by DLB/TPD
• Utilization of Building Footprints as Property Details through online/offline system augmentations, Geolocation based survey activities for Property Surveys & Implementing Building by-laws for all built-up structures
• Usage of GIS data for Better IT enabled Urban Plans and Infrastructure Project Planning like Master Plans, Zonal Development Plans and other special area plans
