Fiber To The Home (FTTH) Project

Project Description

In the FTTH Project, it is planned to provide FTTH connectivity to the government offices / buildings at Gram Panchayat (GP) level across Rajasthan. M/s BSNL would provide Optical Fiber Connectivity (OFC) up to five (05) government offices by using existing BharatNET network at GP level. This network shall extend from Gram Panchayat to rural area as last mile connectivity to cater voice, video and data services at Gram Panchayat and different Government offices across Rajasthan.

Approach and Objective

In the project, adequate internet connectivity is to be provided for effective delivery of citizen services across Rajasthan. The objective of Project are as follows:
• High speed internet to Government offices/building at Gram Panchayat Level across Rajasthan using existing BharatNET network at GP level.
• 05 FTTH connections are being provided at the Gram Panchayat level by extending the existing BharatNet Network on overhead OFC.

Outcome

• Under the FTTH Project, total 26,000+ FTTH connections has been commissioned in approx. 5100+ GPs so far.
• Connectivity is being used by the end user of Government Offices at Gram Panchayat level.
3. Delivery of citizen services in the rural areas of the state using the FTTH connectivity.

Audience/Stakeholders

• End users of Government Offices/ Buildings at Gram Panchayat Level.
• Officials / Officers of Government Offices such as Schools, Sub Centers/PHC, Police Chowkis/ Stations, Gram Panchayat Bhawan, Patwar Bhawan etc. in each Gram panchayat across Rajasthan.

Outlook

• FTTH connectivity in remaining Gram Panchayat across Rajasthan.
• It is targeted to provide 40,000+ FTTH connections in approx. 8,700+ GPs (covered under BharatNET phase-I).
• FTTH (Fiber to the Home) network up to village level under the under the "Scheme of Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2022-23".
